A psychoanalyst's take on the music business

I recently discovered a great new blog by psychoanalyst Mike Jolkovski that analyses relationships and dynamics in music performance organizations.  What a great idea for a blog!  This is a subject of great interest to me, especially as I continue to write my This Crazy Business series of articles.

Workingthrough.com covers some of the following topics (in Mike's own words):

  • -the psychology of the performer
  • -leadership and conflict as it occurs in bands and other music groups
  • -similarities between creative persons in the arts and technologies
  • -analogies between bands and business startups
  • -why people sabotage their success
  • -leadership, authority, and power: legitimate and otherwise

Mike also wrote a post about my new blog Arts Addict recently.  Thanks, Mike!  I'll be looking forward to seeing this blog develop in the coming weeks and months--it's in my Google Reader, so I'll be sure not to miss a post.
