Venture Platform Overview Video
As promised from earlier this week, I am posting the Venture Platform Overview video. This video will be available at the Venture Sales site along with several additional videos highlighting specific components such as Venture’s event manager, slider controls, market insight (analytics), email marketing capability, design features and functionality, content management tools, and solution academy (support and training site). What makes this video special is it offers the first look into Venture’s admin panel… (more…)
Detroit Rebuttal and Venture’s Launch
Now that primary development recently wrapped up, we’ve been hard at work getting Venture’s sales and support site ready for launch. To that end, I’m happy to say that all things being equal, that should take place sometime between Monday and Wednesday next week… (more…)
Venture Crosses The Finish Line
There’s nothing quite as gratifying as completing an enormous project and the Venture Project has been precisely that. The programmers have completed every task and we’re in the process of packaging everything up and using the final product to generate the remaining content needed for the sales site. However, that doesn’t mean you have to wait to see what Venture can produce… (more…)
Venture Pre-Release Demonstration
I’m in Springfield, MO today for some strategic planning follow-up work with the Springfield Regional Arts Council. I’m also working with a collection of leading performing arts groups via some collaborative projects of mutual benefit to the entire local culture scene and since everyone is together in the same place at the same time, it seemed like a good opportunity to conduct a thorough demonstration of the Venture Platform… (more…)
The Love-Hate Relationship With Email Marketing
Dale Fisher posted a great little blurb about email marketing HTML at The Revolution Starts…Now? last month that reminds all of us why we love to hate email marketing. Compared to mailers, they have a number of strengths but one of email marketing’s shortcomings is how difficult it is to create a simple, HTML message that function properly in the vast array of email client delivery platforms… (more…)
Save The Revolution, We Need Reformation
With the League conference in full swing this week behind the theme of Orchestra R/Evoluiton, it seems much of the discussion is focused outward: what orchestras mean to their communities, new business models, etc. It’s fun to take part in visioning exercises but those are best left for times of economic stability and growth. What should be taking place is talk about Reformation, how those entrusted with governance and administration can adapt to do more during a time of less… (more…)
Venture Project Update: Calling All Ops Professionals
Just because Venture is designed primarily as a comprehensive tool for marketing, box office, and development professionals that doesn’t mean they get to have all the fun. Case in point, we’re putting together flexible templates designed especially to help ops personnel communicate with artist/employees who aren’t located in the administrative office. A common application for orchestras is a webpage that contains logistic and schedule information for musicians. What I’m looking for is input from personnel managers and other ops specialists about features you would like to see included in this component… (more…)
Venture Project Update: Big Love For Design
I have big love for logos, typography, and pretty much all things related to identity design. I could lose weeks, nay months, of time trolling through the pages of Logo Designer Blog, I love Typography, Just Creative Design, or any of the other wonderful bookmarks that clog my Firefox toolbar folders. It should come as no surprise then that some of the most enjoyable aspects of Venture are related to these components and I have some updates to share… (more…)
Venture Project Update: Building A Smarter Art
Today marks the beginning of The Venture Project’s active analysis period as initial users get in and work with specific Creative Control Engine components. We’re also assembling the review checklist to ensure each individual feature and module is properly designed and incorporated into the final product. It’s gratifying to see everything coming together and it has been equally satisfying to receive the amount of interest inquires from colleagues throughout the arts business. Consequently, I want to extend a sincere invitation to all arts consultants and other arts technology professionals to get in touch and learn more about how Venture can help you work with clients and add value to your service… (more…)
Venture Project Update: Confidence + Control = Happiness
Although it is easy to get caught up in all of the tools and other tech oriented goodies that will make Venture a leading arts oriented platform, there is simply no denying the one component tying it all together is the Solution Academy, Venture’s exclusive member’s only support and training community. After all, what’s the point of having something like Venture’s Creative Control Engine (CCE) if users don’t receive comprehensive and robust support to help them maximize that control? (more…)
Venture Project Update: Big News For Small Budget Groups
From the very beginning, The Venture Project has been focused on serving as a paradigm shift in the way many performing arts organizations improve marketing, revenue, and outreach performance. To that end, the overall cost has been an integral component in that process but the reality is that the existing lowest price point was best suited for groups starting at the $1 mil annual budget level on up. But thanks to some big-brain thinking from the developer, BlueprintDS, it is looking more and more likely that will change for the better… (more…)
Venture Project Update: Fun With Wireframes
The Venture Project has been officially underway for a little while now and one of the first items to be addressed is designing the Creative Control Engine (CCE), Venture’s extraordinary website publishing system and content management component. In short, CCE is how users will be able to manage and control a large, dynamic collection of web based material as well as providing direct control over all elements related to building and revising an institutional website. The initial step in that process is solidifying the design architecture by developing a series of wireframes, or visual guides… (more…)
