Job Description

Las Colinas Symphony Orchestra General Manager Job Description The General Manager (GM) is responsible for development, management, implementation, and evaluation of fundraising programs, planning and administering ticket revenue goals, subscription renewal campaign, and Production management for the organization. The GM reports to the Executive Director. Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist and participate in the development and implementation of the season plan for the orchestra that supports the development and marketing objectives of the
  • Assist in the planning, management, and implementation of all phases of the Annual Campaign; oversee the solicitation and acknowledgement process, maintenance of records, and establishment of donor benefits; monitor progress and make adjustments as needed
  • Work with the Board and Executive Director to develop and direct year-round programs to cultivate new prospects and seek out new funding
  • Assist with the development and implementation of a corporate sponsorship program; research and identify potential sponsors; prepare proposals and work with the Board and Executive Director to identify matches between Association’s program and each company’s interests
  • Work with volunteers to plan all special fund-raising events and benefits; participate in establishing the budget and oversee the execution of each event
  • Prepare all materials used to support the Association’s fundraising events and campaigns
  • Assist Executive Director in development of Board and volunteer leadership through participation in Board committee meetings and ongoing donor cultivation efforts; participate in identifying and recruiting new leadership
  • Recommend fund-raising policies and procedures to the Executive Director and Board with the goal of building a year-round development program
  • Assist the Executive Director and Board in development budgets for events and campaigns; monitor the progress of each, and adjust plans when necessary
  • Prepare budget projections as needed
  • Organize all fund-raising campaigns and events; evaluate effectiveness of each campaign
  • Maintain all donor files and records; develop and administer all donor benefit programs
  • Prepare and maintain all aspects of season subscription and renewal campaigns, including management of box office and ticket office operations, direct mail and telemarketing
  • Attend other civic and cultural events in the community; represent the Association by speaking at public events as requested
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Executive Director and Music Director
  • Prepare halls for rehearsals
  • Create orchestra chart for each performance
  • Prepare payroll for each concert cycle
  • Percussion request lists for each concert cycle
  • Supervise Stage Manager and tech staff
