Welcome to the Gig After Gas Online Calculator reloaded where musicians can figure out just how much the rising cost of gasoline impacts their take-home gig pay. Fashioned after a blog post by Jason Heath entitled The real cost of driving to gigs for the freelance musician this worksheet allows the user to not only calculate the impact of fuel costs on net pay but they can compare two gigs against each other to determine which one puts more money in their pocket.
The calculator is super easy to use, just follow these steps:
- Enter the requested data in the yellow cells under the “Gig #1″ column (if you don’t know the exact data, just guesstimate).
- If you have a second gig to compare, enter the relevant data into the green cells under the “Gig #2″ column, otherwise, skip this step.
- All of your sub totals and grand totals will update automatically after you input data.
- If you get stuck or accidentally erase any cell information, simply refresh the page and you’ll get a nice, clean sheet to start over with.
- New for 2011: Include additional expenses and revenue, just look for the green and red cells toward the bottom!
